WEEK 6 SUN BELT CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Carlisa May (Arkansas State, OH, Sophomore)
Sophomore outside hitter Carlisa May put together a solid weekend as the Red Wolves won their home conference openers over ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette, both by scores of 3-0. She had 26 kills (4.33 per set) to lead the team as she hit .333 on the weekend. She had 13 kills in each match with a hitting percentage of .346 against ULM Friday before a .323 mark Saturday against the Ragin’ Cajuns.

WEEK 6 SUN BELT CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Alex Beecher (Georgia Southern, L/DS, RS-Senior)
Beecher, a rs-senior from Orlando, Fla., was instrumental last week in a pair of victories for the Eagles. Beecher 4.62 digs and 1.75 assists per set for the week while logging 23 digs and nine assists in the 3-2 over South Alabama. She added 14 digs and five assists in the sweep of Troy. Her 23 digs against USA marked the 41st career match in which she's had over 20 digs.

WEEK 6 SUN BELT CONFERENCE SETTER OF THE WEEK

Mallory Warrington (Arkansas State, S, Senior)
Senior setter Mallory Warrington paced the Arkansas State offense to a pair of home conference wins against ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette. The Lake St. Louis, Mo., native handed out 68 assists in the six sets of action for an 11.33 per set mark. She also had three service aces with no errors, 18 digs, and 10 kills during the weekend. She dished out 33 assists against ULM Friday night and also had three blocks before she handed out 35 assists versus the Ragin’ Cajuns Saturday night to go along with 12 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. She added six kills and two aces in Saturday’s win as well.

WEEK 6 SUN BELT CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Taylor Murata (UT Arlington, L, Freshman)
Behind a strong freshman season thus far, Murata etched her name into the all-time freshman records at UTA after a great week defensively. After collecting 28 digs at libero, Murata moved into 10th in single-season freshman history in digs (327). Her strong week opened with as she helped guide the Mavs to a 3-0 win over Appalachian State without a return error. Against East Division favorite Coastal Carolina she stepped up her game to record 18 digs in just three sets (6.0/s).
