On Sunday, July 24th, the Allstate Sugar Bowl, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and Sun Belt Conference will host their annual Cheer and Football Clinic presented by Chevron. The clinic will be held at the Joe Brown Park football field (5601 Read Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70127) and is free for all kids ages 5-14. The Cheer and Football Clinic will feature coaches and student-athletes from the Sun Belt Conference and other area schools as well as former members of the Saints and Pelicans dance teams.
Children can be pre-registered for the event to guarantee a spot by visiting the following link:

“Throughout the year, through a variety of programs, Chevron contributes to the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission because we care about the children of the Crescent City and their physical and educational well-being,” said Leah Brown, Public Affairs Manager for Chevron's Gulf of Mexico Business Unit. “This event helps teach kids lessons about hard work and having goals that they can use both on the field and in the classroom. Chevron is proud to support the Cheer and Football Clinic as part of our investment in the local community.”
Kids participating in the football clinic will receive instruction on football related actives and drills, while cheer clinic participants will learn routines for an end of the day performance.
“We are proud to be partnering with the Allstate Sugar Bowl and R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl for the annual youth Cheer and Football Clinic that Chevron presents,” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. “Last year we had a phenomenal turnout and our coaches and student-athletes had a lot of fun with the kids as they ran through drills and provided some tips about the game that unites all of us.”
The Allstate Sugar Bowl and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl have partnered on a free youth clinic since 2007. Last year, the pair of collegiate bowl games welcomed the addition of the Sun Belt Conference, which brings top college football players and coaches to the event as a lead-in to the league’s annual media day (Monday, July 25).
