Little Rock Duo Picks Up Women's Soccer Weekly Honors
The Little Rock Trojans posted a pair of 2-0 shutouts over the weekend, defeating both Missouri State and previously unbeaten Memphis in back-to-back matches. It was the first two wins of the season for the Trojans.

Harrison Hayworth and Sara Small were both integral in the pair of wins as Hayworth netted a goal and added an assist in the Memphis win, while Small kept a clean sheet in both wins, stopping three shots on goal against Missouri State and six against Memphis.

For their efforts, Hayworth and Small were named the Sun Belt Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Hayworth's goal and assist were the first points of her career after sitting out all of 2015 with an injury. She scored her first goal on a penalty kick and added an assist off a corner kick as the Trojans defeated the Tigers.

Small made nine total saves on the weekend and dropped her season GAA from 1.50 to 0.75 while upping her save percentage from 0.625 to 0.824.

Elsewhere around the league, South Alabama and Troy both swept weekend matches as the teams played Belmont and Jacksonville State over the weekend. USA defeated Jacksonville State, 4-1, and Belmont, 3-1 while Troy kept both teams scoreless in a 2-0 win over Belmont and a 1-0 win over Jacksonville State.

Troy’s Mikki Lewis registered her 22nd and 23rd career shutouts on the weekend and has shutout three of Troy's first four opponents to open the season, a first for the program.

Appalachian State scored two goals late to cap a comeback win over Radford to improve to 3-1 on the young season, tying the program’s best start since 1999.

WEEK 2 SUN BELT CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Harrison Hayworth

After missing all of 2015 with an injury, Harrison Hayworth has made herself known in the first four games of the 2016 Little Rock soccer season. She earned her first career points on Sunday night, scoring a goal on a penalty kick and adding an assist off a corner kick as the Trojans defeated previously unbeaten Memphis 2-0. The Tigers had defeated No. 19 Ole Miss on Friday night.

Sara Small was perfect when called upon this week, making nine total saves and shutting out Missouri State and Memphis for two victories. Small – Little Rock’s career GAA leader – made three saves against the Bears on Friday and six against the Tigers on Sunday. She dropped her season GAA from 1.50 to 0.75 in the process and upped her save percentage from .625 to .824.

  • Coastal Carolina fell to a 2-1-1 overall record, dropping Sunday’s contest to No. 2 Duke, 2-0. Despite the loss Becca Austin had an outstanding performance totaling 11 saves – the second best mark in school history for a single game record.
  • Georgia Southern defeated Charlotte, 4-3, on Sunday, in double-overtime on a strike from Junique Rodriguez in the match’s 100th minute. It was the Eagles’ first win of 2016 and a match that saw three Eagles score their first goals of the season. Junior forward Angelica allerstedt and senior forward Melinda Lukas both scored goals in the first half, and sophomore midfielder Junique Rodriguez scored her first goal this season in overtime.
