Boone, N.C. – The 2017 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday morning at the State Farm Fields-Kennedy Trails in Boone, N.C. Both races will be carried live for the first time ever on ESPN3.

The defending champion UTA men and Appalachian State women were both picked to repeat in the preseason polls released prior to the season.
UTA will try to become the first men’s team to three-peat as Sun Belt men’s cross country champions since WKU won six titles in a row from 1982-87. UTA is also seeking its fourth men’s cross country title in the last five years.
Appalachian State will try to become the first women’s team to repeat as Sun Belt champions since 2011 and the first host to win the race since 2011. The 2016 title was the first-ever Sun Belt women’s cross country title for the Mountaineers after they joined the league in 2014.
