Louisiana 21, Idaho 16
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Andre Nunez hooked up with Ja'Marcus Bradley for a 45-yard touchdown early in the third quarter and the Louisiana defense stopped Idaho on downs at the 30 with 1:47 to play to preserve a 21-16 win on Saturday.
 
Nunez took the Ragin' Cajuns (2-3, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference), who had lost three straight, 75 yards in five plays after the second half kickoff to make it 21-10.
 
The Vandals (2-3, 1-1) took the early lead on a 1-yard plunge by D.J. Henderson, who also had five tackles, including 1½ sacks. Ray Dion tied it with a 3-yard run and Louisiana took the lead on a 1-yard run by Trey Ragas to cap a 14-play, 83-yard drive.
 
Nunez was 18 of 24 for 213 yards but the Vandals had seven sacks, 3½ by Leonard Hazewood.
 
Idaho pulled within five on Cade Coffey's third field goal early in the fourth quarter. The Ragin' Cajuns missed a long field goal with 4:54 to play and the Vandals marched from their 32 to the Louisiana 30 before throwing two incompletions when they needed 3 yards. Ragas had gains of 11 and 13 yards among his four carries to help to help run out the final 1:47.
 
Appalachian State 45, New Mexico State 31
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Jalin Moore, who ran for 241 yards, and Terrence Upshaw rushed for two touchdowns apiece, Clifton Duck and Tae Hayes each had three interceptions and Appalachian State defeated New Mexico State 45-31 on Saturday.
 
Upshaw and Moore both ran for a touchdown and wide receiver Malik Williams threw a touchdown pass to Thomas Hennigan on a trick play in-between as Appalachian State (3-2, 2-0 Sun Belt Conference) scored the final 21 points of the game and finished with 31 points after turnovers.
 
Taylor Lamb, who threw two interceptions after entering the game with a streak of 213 passes without a pick, ran 38 yards for a score early in the fourth quarter to pull the Mountaineers into a tie at 24.
 
The Aggies (2-4, 0-2) answered with a 61-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Rogers to Jason Huntley. The Mountaineers tied it again as Upshaw went 10 yards for a score. The 27-yard trick play put Appy up with 5:42 to go and Moore iced it with a 56-yard burst. Moore, who had 19 carries, had his third game of at least 240 yards.
 
Rogers threw for 356 yards and two touchdowns but had all six interceptions. Larry Rose III ran for 80 yards and a touchdown, giving him 30 for his career, one shy of tying the school record. Jason Huntley ran for 96 yards and had three catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.
 
ULM 45, Texas State 27
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Caleb Evans threw for a career-high 433 yards and three touchdowns as ULM took control in the second half to roll over Texas State 45-27 on Saturday.
 
Evans hit RJ Turner on a 34-yard scoring strike to take a 26-20 lead with 9:25 left before the half. Evans opened the third quarter with a 10-yard TD run and hooked up with Marcus Green for a 67-yard touchdown toss for a 42-27 advantage early in the fourth.
 
Green grabbed four passes for 100 yards and RJ Turner hauled in five for 99 yards and one score for the Warhawks (3-2, 3-0 Sun Belt).
 
Texas State led 20-19 after Hutch White hit A.J. Taylor on a 47-yard touchdown pass. Damian Williams ran for two touchdowns and passed for another for Texas State (1-5, 0-2).
 
Georgia State 27, Coastal Carolina 21
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Conner Manning threw for 273 yards and a score as Georgia State picked up its first conference win, beating Coastal Carolina 27-21 on Saturday night.
 
Georgia State's Glenn Smith scored first, taking the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. Then Manning capped his team's first drive with a 7-yard scoring pass to Penny Hart and the Panthers (2-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) were up 14-0 with 3:25 left in the first quarter. Kyler Neal had a short TD run late in the half and Georgia State led 21-7 at the break.
 
Smith had 74 rushing yards on 23 carries and Hart finished with 132 yards receiving.
 
Demarcus Kirk ran for a touchdown late in the fourth and the Chanticleers (1-4, 0-2) scored twice in the quarter to close to 27-21 with 1:50 to play but the Panthers held on for the win.
 
Tyler Keane threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns for Coastal Carolina.
