Community Coffee Player of the Week

Ryan Cleveland (Georgia Southern, Senior, 1B)
Ryan Cleveland proved his worth for the Eagles with a .556 weekend which included 7 RBIs, 3 doubles, 5 walks and a stolen base. The Eagle first baseman was issued four walks in the opener, tagging his other plate appearance for a double and a run scored. In game two, Cleveland laced a ninth inning bases loaded double into the right field corner to score three runs and tie the game which was eventually won in the 10th. On Sunday he went 2-for-3 (with another double), driving in three runs. The first run came via a sacrifice fly, the remaining two were insurance runs the senior plated with a double in a four-run seventh inning. The senior finished the week with a .889 slugging percentage and a .667 on base percentage.

Community Coffee Pitcher of the Week

Zach Melton (South Alabama, Junior, LHP)
Melton tossed six no-hit innings while striking out nine and issuing one walk in his first career start in Saturday’s combined shutout of Eastern Illinois. The left-hander retired the final 13 batters he faced in the game following a two-out walk in the second inning.
