Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Agustina Serio (UTA, Junior, Business)
Agustina Serio, the 2016 Sun Belt Player to Watch award winner proved that she's one to watch for the 2017 season as she completed a near perfect two week to the opening of the season. Serio is 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles play for the Mavericks, earning wins in singles in all but one match, leaving her match against Princeton unfinished in the third set despite leading. Serio defeated opponents from Michigan State (6-3, 6-2) and Houston (6-1, 6-0) against individuals that have not had defeat at that position against any other foe. In doubles, she played at the No. 1 position and was perfect except for an upset against UTEP, ending a streak of seven matches dating to the ITA Regional consolation in which she did not have defeat.
