Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

Juan Cruz Soria (South Alabama, Senior)
Juan Cruz Soria won his only singles and doubles matches this week at UCF, with both coming over top 100 opponents.  In singles he rallied after dropping the first set and beat No. 44 Korey Lovett 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 on court No. 1.  In doubles with teammate Loic Cloes they defeated No. 78 Mariano Porter and Harrison Richmond 6-2 on court No. 1.

Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

Marie Babayan (Coastal Carolina, Senior)
Marie Babayan led Coastal with three No. 1 doubles wins and a pair of No. 3 singles wins last week as Coastal went unbeaten in three matches, and extended its season-long winning streak to six matches. On the top doubles court, Babayan and her partner, Sara Bondar, won all three matches by at least a four-game margin, and helped Coastal win the opening point in two of its three matches.In singles, Babayan’s pair of wins came in straight sets, including a 6-2, 6-3 win versus Richmond that clinched the match and completed a Coastal comeback after the Chants fell behind by two points.
