Community Coffee Players of the Week
Becca Hartley (Troy, Senior, UTL, Accounting)
Senior Becca Hartley led her team to a 3-1 week that included two walk-off wins at home. The Trojans defeated Southern Miss in a mid-week match up and won the series 2-1 against Georgia State. Hartley finished the week with a .615 at the plate. She hit a home run in all three games against the Panthers, including a lead-off homer in game three to put Troy on the board early. In 13 at-bats, she recorded eight hits and drove in five runs to help the Trojans to the wins. All four games were within two runs and Hartley’s timely hitting was crucial in the success of the Trojans. Hartley recorded a slugging percentage of 1.385 and an on base percentage of .688 on the week. She now has 10 home runs on the season, and is just one away from her career-high 11, that she posted last season.
Community Coffee Pitcher of the Week
Randi Rupp (Texas State, Junior, Management)
Randi Rupp went 3-0 on the week with a 0.00 ERA, 26 strikeouts and a .136 opponent batting average, while allowing only nine hits and issuing three walks in 19.0 innings of work … Rupp opened the week with her fourth complete-game shutout of the season in the Bobcats’ 7-0 win at Houston, which had entered the game on an eight-game win streak. The junior righty struck out seven, while scattering four hits and issuing two walks … In TXST’s five-inning, 11-0 win in the series opener against App. State, she threw four complete scoreless innings with six strikeouts, giving up only a single hit … She closed the week and App. State series with 8.0 innings and 13 strikeouts. Rupp scattered four hits and did not issue a free pass … Rupp is now 13-2 on the year with a 1.11 ERA in 17 appearances (16 starts).
