Sun Belt announces 2017 Women's Golf All-Conference Teams

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – After a compelling first round of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship at the Robert Trent Jones the Shoals Golf Club, the women's golfers took a little time out for some rest and relaxation at the annual banquet celebrating both the academic and athletic achievements of several women's golf student-athletes.

The banquet, held following Monday's first round, honored several student-athletes including the 2017 Women's Golf All-Conference Teams ahead of Tuesday’s second round of competition.

Texas State’s duo of Anne-Charlotte Mora and Sasikarn Somboomsup were named to the All-Sun Belt First Team as were the duo of Fátima Fernández Cano and Bianca Lohbauer of Troy. Coastal Carolina's Malene Krolboll Hansen and Little Rock's Shania Berger rounded out the first team.

The second team consisted of Beth Ann Compton of Arkansas State, Coastal's Marie Lunackova, Iben Hvass of Georgia Southern, Jemima Gregson and Harmanprit Kaur of Georgia State and Raksha Phadke of Texas State.

Berger and Cano were both selected to the All-Sun Belt First Team in 2016. Lohbauer was a second team selection in 2016.

Texas State’s Mora leads the individual standings as the sophomore fired a five-under 67 on day one. Her teammate, Somboonsup, carded a four-under 68 as the Bobcats own a two-shot lead over Troy with a day one total of 285 (three-under).

Tomorrow’s second round begins at 8:00 a.m. CT from the Fighting Joe Course at the Shoals.
