Sun Belt announces schedule information for 2017 football season
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced the television selections for the first three weeks of the football regular season, kick times for previously selected weekday conference games on ESPN2 and ESPNU as well as a schedule change for a conference game between Texas State and Troy.
South Alabama’s home opener has been moved up a day as the Jaguars now host Oklahoma State on Friday, Sept. 8 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The contest against the Cowboys, who finished the 2016 season ranked No. 11 in both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll, will now kickoff at 7 p.m. CT and be televised on ESPN2.
Arkansas State’s home opener against Miami (Fla.) is set for an ESPNU broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2:30 p.m. CT. This year’s contest is the second game of a home-and-home series that began in 2014, and will give the Red Wolves a home outing against a current ACC opponent for the first time in the program history.
Wednesday night games of Arkansas State at Georgia Southern (Oct. 4) and South Alabama at Troy (Oct. 11) will both kick off at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2. ESPNU will broadcast at least five weekday Sun Belt games for a fifth consecutive season (Oct. 12-Nov. 9).
Texas State and Troy moved their Saturday, Nov. 25 matchup to Friday, Nov. 24. Television coverage and kick time will be announced 12 days prior to the game.
This is the fifth consecutive year that every Sun Belt Conference home football game will be on an ESPN platform.
