Rivalry men’s basketball games selected for ESPN2 broadcasts
NEW ORLEANS – ESPN2 will televise two Friday night Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball rivalry showdowns during the stretch run of conference play.

Georgia State at Georgia Southern will be played on Friday, Feb. 16 and will tip off at 8 p.m. CT. UTA at Texas State will tip on Friday, March 2 at 6 p.m. CT. Both games will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

In addition, ESPN has selected Friday, Dec. 29 as its men’s basketball wild card game day. The network will select a game to air on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. CT at minimum 22 days prior to Dec. 29. The games available for selection are:

  • Georgia Southern at Troy
  • Georgia State at South Alabama
  • Louisiana at Little Rock
  • Texas State at Appalachian State
  • ULM at Arkansas State
  • UTA at Coastal Carolina

Games to be streamed on ESPN3 will be announced at a later date. ESPN3 carried 125 matchups featuring Sun Belt Conference institutions last season, a 20 percent increase from the 2015-16 season. All games will also be available on the ESPN app, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

The 2017-18 men’s and women’s basketball season will feature an 18-game conference slate with men’s and women’s basketball games played as doubleheaders. All 12 men’s and women’s basketball teams will travel to the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, March 6-11, in New Orleans at Lakefront Arena. It will be the fifth consecutive tournament held in New Orleans.
