Week 6 Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashleigh Cade, Louisiana
F, Senior, Bonney Lake, Wash.
Ashleigh Cade had herself a day in the Cajuns lone match of the weekend. She finished the day with two goals and an assist to help lead the Cajuns to their second win in conference play. She first was involved on the Cajuns first goal with an assist on the throw-in, and she followed that up by scoring the next two goals. Both were greatly timed runs with equally solid finishes to give the Cajuns a 3-0 lead. What makes her brace even more impressive, beside it being the first of her career, the Eagles stormed back and if Cade does not score twice to give the Cajuns three goals then the two scored by Georgia Southern late would have caused the Cajuns to lose the game. It means her second goal was the game winner and the Cajuns finished off a great home victory.

Heather Martin, Texas State
GK, Sophomore, Midlothian, Texas
Heather Martin recorded back-to-back shutouts as Texas State won both of its Sun Belt matches over the weekend by a 1-0 score. The sophomore made three saves against Georgia Southern at home in her first non-combined shutout of the season. She followed with four stops at Arkansas State in a match delayed nearly 90 minutes in the second half because of lightning. After the delay, Martin made two big saves on free kicks from the Red Wolves that were taken just outside the top of the 18-yard box to preserve the shutout victory. The Midlothian, Texas native has 2.5 shutouts this season to give her five in her career, the eighth most in Bobcat history.
