• Ten Sun Belt women's indoor track & field squads are in action this weekend.
• Texas State owns the Sun Belt’s top performances in seven different events so far this season, including the 400-meter, 800-meter and Mile runs.
• Arkansas State’s De’Aris Weakley boasts the conference’s top time in the 60-meter dash (7.55) and the second-best time in the 200-meter run (24.87).
• Appalachian State holds the conference’s top three times in the 5,000-meter run – Megan Scannell (18:51.03), Erin Jameson (18:53.19) and Samantha Kolar (19:06.72) – all recorded at the East Tennessee State Invitational.
• Texas State’s Courtney Johnson tied her personal best with her high jump of 1.77m (5-9.75) at the Ted Nelson Invitational.
• The 2018 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for Feb. 19-20 at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Track - Hannah Dunderdale, Arkansas State (Sr., Lincolnshire, England)
Arkansas State senior Dunderdale tabulated 3,750 points in the pentathlon at the Samford Invitational to finish second. Her point total ranks second in program history, tops on the Sun Belt performance list and sits 15th nationally so far during the indoor season. She posted a time of 2:16.19 in the 800m run portion of the pentathlon, the ninth-fastest 800m time in program history and fifth-fastest in the Sun Belt this year.
Field - Ashlan Rosier, Georgia State (Sr., Evans, Ga.)
Georgia Stste senior Ashlan Rosier took home first place in the long jump at the Samford Open and set a school record in the process. Rosier's jump of 5.80m broke Katherine Randolph's mark of 5.76m. Rosier ranks fifth in the long jump in the Sun Belt this season.
