2018-19 Sun Belt Women’s Tennis News and Notes:
 
AROUND #SUNBELTTEN
• The fall tournament schedule rolls on for Sun Belt women’s tennis with six teams in action this weekend.
 
• The notable upcoming tournaments for Sun Belt squads are the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships over the next two weekends – Arkansas State at the ITA Central Regional and Louisiana, ULM, South Alabama and Troy at the ITA Southern Regional this weekend and Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina at the ITA Carolina Regional, Georgia Southern and Georgia State at the ITA Southern Regional and UTA and Texas State at the ITA Texas Regional next weekend. Regional singles and doubles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending Oracle ITA National Fall Championships set for Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Ariz.
 
• The Sun Belt picked up several tournament titles over the past couple of weeks:
 
Louisiana won four flight titles – sophomore Dana Radovanovic and freshman Ai Noa Fabre in singles and Fabre and sophomore Floriane Picaut and sophomore Morgan Forshag and freshman AK Harvey in doubles –  at the Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational.
 
Troy freshman Celia Montero Estevan won the Flight C singles title, while Estevan and sophomore Maria Casas Blas teamed up to take the Flight B doubles crown at the Mercer Gridiron Classic.
 
South Alabama sophomores Milka Pasanen and Yu Fujioka were named flight champions in both singles and doubles at the Samford Fall Hidden Dual #2.
 
Appalachian State sophomore María José Zacarias went 3-0 en route to capturing the Gold Singles flight at the Jimmy Powell Invitational. Zacarias’ weekend paced 12 Mountaineer wins across singles and doubles.
 
Georgia State freshman Eva Chivu was a perfect 3-0 in singles and won the Flight Four final over UTA sophomore Momoka Horiguchi at the SMU Invitational.
 
• In other fall tournament play around the conference, Coastal Carolina totaled 17 wins at the 49er Classic, Arkansas State picked up five wins at the Samford Fall Hidden Dual #1 and Appalachian State started the fall strong and Georgia Southern had four players participate at the Hokie Fall Invitational.

• The 2019 Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Championship is set for April 18-21 at Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga.
