Sun Belt Announces Most Expansive Basketball Broadcast Schedule in Conference History

– The Sun Belt Conference is poised to enjoy its most expansive broadcast coverage of men’s and women’s basketball in conference history during the 2018-19 season.
 
On the heels of the Sun Belt’s long-term contract extension with ESPN, the conference is scheduled to produce a record 251 basketball regular-season home and conference championship broadcasts (men: 133 regular season and nine (9) championship; women: 100 regular season and nine (9) championship) on the ESPN family of networks. Highlighting the league’s regular-season slate are a pair of men’s matchups on ESPN2 – Georgia State at Louisiana on Friday, Feb. 8 and Troy at Georgia Southern on Friday, Feb. 15. Tipoff of both games is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET.
 
The league’s remaining regular-season games will be carried live on ESPN+.
 
In addition, the 2019 Sun Belt Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships (March 11-17) are set for live coverage on ESPN2 and ESPN+ as well. The first round, second round, quarterfinals and semifinals of the men’s tournament will be live on ESPN+ with the championship game on ESPN2. The first round, second round, quarterfinals and semifinals of the women’s tournament will be live on ESPN+ with the championship game on ESPN3 with taped-delay replay on ESPNU.
 
The 2019 basketball championships will feature a 10-team men’s bracket and a 10-team women’s bracket. The first-round games (Monday, March 11 for women’s and Tuesday, March 12 for men’s) will be played on campus sites with the remaining tournament games played at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans beginning on Wednesday, March 13.
