• Sun Belt men’s soccer’s schedule features six matches this week with Appalachian State’s Tuesday tilt against Presbyterian on ESPN+.
 
• Appalachian State (7-3-3, 1-0-1 Sun Belt) has six shutouts this season, including four straight clean sheets at home. The Mountaineers have outscored their opponents, 6-1, at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. Appalachian State's six shutouts are tied for the most since 2015 and the most overall since 2012. The Mountaineers have ensured themselves their first winning season since 2012.
 
• Coastal Carolina (7-4, 1-1) moved up to 36th in the latest NCAA RPI updated through games of Oct. 21. The Chanticleers (eighth) and Appalachian State (ninth) remained in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Southeast Region poll this week.
 
• Conference leader Georgia State (8-4-2, 1-0-2) meets South Carolina on Tuesday night in the 12th meeting between the two programs. The Panthers are seeking their first win against the Gamecocks since 1978.
 
• Georgia Southern (5-5-3, 1-0-1) has played to 1-1 double-overtime ties in each of its last two matches. Junior forward Javier Carbonell continues to be one of the top goal scorers in the nation this season ranked fourth in goals (13) and points (29).
 
• Howard senior forward Victor Guirma ranks among the Sun Belt leaders in multiple categories – tied for third in goals (5) and fourth in points per game (0.92). Defensively, junior goalkeeper Carlos Caro anchors the back end with a league-leading 57 saves on the season.

• Georgia State junior defender Kyle Clinton is one of 31 student-athletes on the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Men's Watch List.
 
•  The 2018 Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Championship is set for Nov. 7-11 at Eagle Field/Erk Park in Statesboro, Ga., hosted by Georgia Southern.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Yazeed Matthews, Coastal Carolina (Sr., F, Johannesburg, South Africa)
Coastal Carolina senior forward Yazeed Matthews netted all three goals in the Chanticleers’ road wins over Clemson and Howard. Matthews scored the match winner in Coastal Carolina’s 1-0 win at Clemson and scored both in the Chanticleer’s 2-1 victory at Sun Belt foe Howard. He now has three match-winning goals on the season. Matthews is second in the conference in scoring with 17 points and second in goals with seven, all in just 10 matches. For his efforts, he was named to the National Team of the Week by College Soccer News.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kervin Fadel, Coastal Carolina (Sr., D, San Jose, Costa Rica)
Coastal Carolina senior defenseman Kervin Fadel led the Chanticleers’ improving back line to two victories on the road. Fadel led Coastal Carolina to a shutout of ACC-power Clemson and the Sun Belt road victory at Howard to give the Chanticleers four shutouts on the season.
