Sun Belt Women's Golf Heads Back to Emerald Coast

Miramar Beach, Fla. - The Sun Belt Conference Women’s Golf Championship heads back to Miramar Beach, Fla.. and the Raven Golf Club for first time since the 2016 season.

Competition for the title on the 6,200-yard, 54-hole tournament begins on Sunday, April 15 and continues through Tuesday, April 17. Teams will tee off on split tees Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. (CT) with six teams starting on the No. 1 hole and five teams going off on the No. 10 tee.

Troy is the reigning women's team champion as they took the 2017 title at the Fighting Joe course in Muscle Shoals, Ala. with a team total 878 (+14). The Trojans currently rank fourth in the Sun Belt. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers own a 293.00 scoring average which is tops in the league. Texas State is just behind Coastal at 301.08.

Coastal's Malene Krolboll Hansen, a senior from Taastrup, Denmark, leads the Sun Belt individually with a 71.54 scoring average over 26 rounds. She has competed in nine tournaments this season with two wins and a low round of 67. Krolboll Hansen finished fourth in the championship a year ago with an even par 216.

South Alabama freshman, Siti Shaari, is second in the league in scoring average at 73.76 with a low of 69 and one win to her credit. Frantiska Lunackova and Sena Ersoy of Coastal Carolina, rank third and fourth, respectively, in scoring average in the league.

Live video from holes 1, 9, 10 and 18 will be available. As player progress through the course live coverage will be rotated around to provide extensive coverage of this year’s golf championship.
