Megan Litumbe, Georgia State (Sr., OF, Grayson, Ga.)
Georgia State senior outfielder Megan Litumbe led the Panthers to a 3-1 record and a series win over rival Georgia Southern by hitting .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles, six RBI and two walks and posting a .769 slugging percentage. Litumbe went a perfect 3-for-3 in Game 3 of the Georgia Southern series as Georgia State run-ruled the Eagles in five innings on Senior Day. She got a hit in all four games and recorded two multi-hit games. Litumbe doubled in all three games of the series. The Grayson, Ga., native enters the Sun Belt Softball Championship on a 10-game hitting streak.
COMMUNITY COFFEE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Summer Ellyson, Louisiana (So., P, Lafayette, La.)
Louisiana sophomore pitcher Summer Ellyson pitched 19 innings of scoreless softball over two appearances against ULM to close out the regular season. Ellyson opened the series with a complete-game, 14-inning shutout in which she struck out 18 Warhawks batters. She retired the leadoff batter in all but two innings (seven times by strikeout), threw a first-pitch strike to 41 of 47 batters faced and threw 118 of her 156 pitches for a strike. The Lafayette, La., native worked five additional scoreless frames in relief in Game 3, capturing the win and series sweep for the Ragin' Cajuns. For the weekend, Ellyson scattered nine hits during her time in the circle and got ULM swinging on 19 of the 22 strikeouts.
