Several Baseball Student-Athletes Receive End of Season Accolades

NEW ORLEANS - Several Sun Belt Conference baseball student-athletes received end of season accolades for their performance on the field this season with the announcement of All-Region and All-America teams from national news outlets that cover collegiate baseball as well as the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

The 2018 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-Region teams were announced in all eight regions with ten Sun Belt baseball student-athletes earning honors. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee.

Collegiate Baseball Newspaper also announced its end of season All-Americans and the newspaper chose five Sun Belt baseball student-athletes.

After two rounds of voting by the organization, 75 baseball student-athletes comprise the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's 21st Annual All-America first, second and third teams.

Nineteen different conferences are represented and 11 conference championships teams. The three All-America squads are also made up of 14 conference players of the year, 10 conference pitchers of the year winners and 10 first-round draft picks in the recent Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
