NEW ORLEANS - After earning its fifth Sun Belt Conference regular season championship in the last six seasons, South Alabama will be the No. 1 seed at the 2019 Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship held at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala., which runs from Wednesday, November 6 through Sunday, November 10.
The Jaguars won the regular-season title with a conference record of 8-1-1 (25 points) and is the tournament's top seed for the fifth time in program history.
Top-seeded, South Alabama (13-3-2, 8-1-1) takes on eighth-seeded Georgia Southern (6-10-1, 3-6-1), at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The Jaguars enter the tournament riding a five-match winning streak, having led the league during the regular season with 42 goals scored.
Troy (12-2-4, 7-1-2) enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed, having won or tied its last eight matches. Troy faces seventh-seeded Louisiana (8-7-3, 4-4-2) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT. The teams faced one another in the regular season finale with the Trojans prevailing, 2-1, scoring both goals in the final minutes of Sunday's match.
Arkansas State (9-5-3, 5-2-3) will be the No. 3 seed and takes on No. 6 Texas State (9-7-2, 5-4-1) in the opening matchup on Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT.
Coastal Carolina (7-8-2, 5-4-1) enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed and faces No. 5 Georgia State (8-8-2, 5-4-1) in Wednesday night’s finale at 7 p.m. CT.
All seven matches of the 2019 Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Four matches take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6, with the four winners meeting in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8, starting at 4 p.m. CT. The Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship match takes place on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. CT.

NOTES:
* Coastal Carolina, Georgia State and Texas State each finished tied with 16 points in the final standings. When looking at their records against each other - the teams each earned three points apiece, keeping them tied in the initial three-team tiebreaker. Looking at the tied teams' record against the next highest seed, South Alabama, all three lost to the Jaguars. Continuing down the line to No. 2 Troy, Coastal Carolina defeated the Trojans while both Georgia State and Texas State lost to Troy. Therefore, Coastal Carolina is awarded the higher seed.
** Georgia State and Texas State would still be tied with 16 points after removing Coastal Carolina from the three-way tie. Georgia State defeated Texas State earlier this year, so the Panthers earn the tiebreaker over the Bobcats and the higher seed.
