NEW ORLEANS – Former Coastal Carolina football student-athlete Nicholas Clark has been appointed chair of the
NCAA Board of Governors Student-Athlete Engagement Committee for the 2019-20 academic year.
As chair, his responsibilities include guiding the committee's charge to facilitate dialogue within the student-athlete community, provide student input on association-wide issues, policies and key initiatives, review and react to topics referred by the NCAA Board of Governors and provide comments to the Board on association-wide areas of interest.
Clark’s NCAA service has included serving as a member of the Division I Council, Division I Transfer Working Group, Division I Football Oversight Committee, Strategic Vision and Planning Committee, Sports Wagering Committee and Board of Governors Federal and State Legislation Working Group. He was a member of the Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including a stint as chair, and served as chair of the Sun Belt Conference SAAC for the 2016-17 academic year.
This year, Clark has received the Sun Belt Medal of Honor and John McLendon Postgraduate Scholarship Award as selected by the National Association of Collegiate Athletics Directors (NACDA).
A native of Hampton, Va., Clark obtained his undergraduate degree in Communication and Business Administration from Coastal Carolina. He is set to complete his Master’s degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State in May 2020.
