Eva Chivu, Georgia State (Fr., Constanta, Romania)
Georgia State freshman Eva Chivu helped the Panthers nearly upset an undefeated Alabama squad in a 4-3 loss to the Crimson Tide. Chivu pulled off a huge win at No. 1 singles with a 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (12-10) over No. 47 Andie Daniell. The victory was her first over a ranked opponent and Daniell's first loss of the spring season. So far this spring, Chivu is 2-2 at No. 1 singles and 3-1 at No. 2 doubles with junior Damira Muminovic.
