Schedules: CBI | CIT

NEW ORLEANS – Three more Sun Belt men’s basketball teams join Georgia State in moving on into the postseason with Coastal Carolina in the Roman College Basketball Invitational and ULM and Texas State in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

Coastal Carolina hosts Howard on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+, while ULM hosts Kent State on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. CT on in the Lou Henson Classic game and Texas State hosts FIU on Saturday, March 23 on 6 p.m. CT, both on WatchCIT.com. The Lou Henson Classic is one of five classics played during the first round of the CIT. After these games, a trophy is presented to the winning team and that team advances to the second round of the tournament.

Four teams in the postseason equal the Sun Belt's all-time high. The conference also had four postseason teams in 1985 (UAB, Old Dominion and VCU in the NCAA Tournament and South Florida in the Postseason NIT), 1986 (UAB, Jacksonville, Old Dominion and WKU in the NCAA Tournament) and 2016 (Little Rock in the NCAA Tournament and Louisiana, ULM and UTA in the CIT).

The Chanticleers (15-16, 9-9 Sun Belt) are making their ninth postseason appearance and second one playing in the CBI. Just two seasons ago, Coastal Carolina made a run all the way to the championship series, losing to Wyoming. The Chants finished ninth in the Sun Belt, their highest finish since joining the conference.

The Bobcats (24-9, 12-6) are making their second trip to the CIT. In its first appearance, Texas State scored wins over Lamar and Idaho before falling to Saint Peter's.

The Warhawks (18-15, 9-9) are making their third CIT appearance (2016, 2018 and 2019), seeking their first win. ULM is 13-2 in games at Fant-Ewing Coliseum this season.
