Appalachian State's Shabazz Earns Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

Ronshad Shabazz, Appalachian State (Sr., G, Raleigh, N.C.)
Appalachian State senior guard Ronshad Shabazz averaged 33.5 points, going 21-of-42 (.500) from the field, 14-of-24 (.583) from three-point range and a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line while adding 5.0 rebounds per game in two games. Shabazz had a game for the ages against ULM, pouring in a career-high 47 points on a career-best 17 field goals made and a school record-tying 10 three-pointers. He also became the first player in school history to score 500 points in three different seasons and just the second player to score 2,000 points in his career. In addition, the 47-point scoring output ranked as the fourth highest scoring performance in program history and is the eighth-highest scoring output in NCAA Division I this season. Shabazz closed the week with 20 points, including a perfect 8-of-8 mark from the free throw line, and five rebounds in the win at Louisiana.
