Coastal Carolina, Little Rock Tied after Round 1; Six Teams Within Four Strokes

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla.
- The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Little Rock Trojans opened the first round of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship with a six-under 278.

Both Coastal and Little Rock were aided by a pair of four-under 67s in round one. CCU had four players shoot par or better, led by Wes Artac who is tied for second with a first round 67. Justin Warren for Little Rock also shot a 67 in the first round and is one of three Trojans to post a par or better score on Sunday.

Georgia Southern is one shot back of the leaders at five-under and Arkansas State is in fourth at three-under.

Four teams are tied at two-under: Georgia State, ULM, UT Arlington and Texas State. Troy is in ninth position followed by South Alabama in tenth. Louisiana and Appalachian State are 11th and 12th, respectively, rounding out the field.

A-State's Luka Naglic, a freshman from Slovenia, is your clubhouse leader after round one. He finished his first 18 at the Sun Belt Championship with a five-under 66. Naglic tallied seven birdies on the day - three on the front nine and four on the back nine.

A total of 26 players finished round one at par or better. Three players are tied for second at four-under in Little Rock's Warren, Coastal's Artac and Georgia State's David Li. 12 players sit just three shots off the lead.

Round two begins at 7:30 a.m. (CT) from split tees on Nos. 1 and 10. The pairings from day one will remain the same on day two, the only difference being those teams who teed off on the No. 1 hole will now move to the back and start on No. 10.
