SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior golfer Anne-Charlotte Mora has earned an individual bid for the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regional in Auburn, Ala. hosted by Auburn. The tournament will run May 6-8 at Saugahatchee Country Club in Auburn.
Mora becomes the first Texas State women's golfer to compete in the NCAA Regional since the team qualified for the regional round at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
"This is great for Anne-Charlotte and Texas State women's golf," head coach
Lisa Strom said. "She has worked so hard the past few years and although it would have been more special to advance as a team, it is great for her to reap the rewards of her hard work and determination."
"We were just talking today about how much she has matured the past two years and how much she is enjoying the opportunity to be at Texas State and pursue her dreams," Strom said. "This spring semester she really began to believe she could win college golf tournaments and that self-confidence has been evident in her performance. She has worked hard on herself and developing some areas that needed attention. She has been coachable and fun to be around. We are so excited for her to experience another NCAA Championship."
The top six teams and the top three individuals not affiliated with those six teams will advance to the NCAA Championship, which takes place May 17-22, 2019, at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
