MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - Georgia Southern finished off an unbeaten opening weekend by picking up a 2-0 victory over the host College of Charleston on Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point, closing out action in the Aaron Olitsky Memorial Tournament. The Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season, the first 2-0 start for Georgia Southern men's soccer since the 2001 season. 

Coastal Carolina 1, Portland 0
PORTLAND, Ore.
– Coastal Carolina pulled off another upset with its 1-0 win at #20 Portland in the final game on its season-opening west coast swing.

Appalachian State 2, Loyola (Md.) 1
BOONE, N.C.
– Appalachian State recorded its first win of the season, taking down back-to-back regular season Patriot League champion Loyola Maryland, 2-1 Sunday night. Kelan Swales and Nick Rogers scored their first goals in an App State uniform to clinch the victory.

Central Arkansas 1, Campbell 1 (2ot)
CONWAY, Ark. – Few chances created saw Central Arkansas hang on for a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play tonight in an ultimate dogfight from the Bill Stephens Complex in Conway. 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2
Georgia State 3, Belmont 1
ATLANTA
– Georgia State rallied past Belmont 3-1 in the home opener Monday night at the GSU Soccer Complex, getting another two-goal performance from junior forward Aris Briggs. The win moved the Panthers to 2-0 to start the season, the third time under head coach Brett Surrency the team has opened the year with back-to-back victories.
