Women's Tennis Opens 2020 Spring Slate This Weekend

• Six Sun Belt Conference women’s tennis teams compete in 12 matches to open the spring dual match portion of the 2019-20 schedule.
 
• Appalachian opens its spring on Monday, Jan. 20 at No. 8 North Carolina State. The Mountaineers are coming off their best season in program history – a 15-6 overall record and a 9-1 mark in Sun Belt play in the conference's first season with a full league schedule. Appalachian State won the outright Sun Belt regular-season title, the first conference title in program history.
 
• Troy kicks off its dual match slate with a neutral site matchup with Mississippi State in Birmingham, Ala. The Trojans and Bulldogs are meeting for just the second time. Mississippi State escaped with a 4-3 victory in the first meeting in 2011.
 
• Louisiana and South Alabama are each playing three matches over the opening weekend.
 
• Georgia State is facing Baylor and McNeese, with both matches in Waco, Texas, for the first time in program history. Baylor was among the teams receiving votes in preseason Oracle/ITA Division I Women’s National Rankings released on Jan. 8.
 
• The 2020 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship returns to the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga., on April 23-26.
