Georgia Southern's Meier Takes Home Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Honors

Georgia Southern freshman Nadja Meier posted a perfect week with two singles and two doubles wins in helping the Eagles extend their winning streak to three in a row. In singles, Meier picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Kennesaw State's Paola Cortez at the No. 2 spot and a 6-3, 6-2 win over USC Upstate's Elin Hellberg at the No. 1 spot. In doubles, she partnered with sophomore Hannah Daniel in the 6-0 win over Kennesaw State's Brenna Reilly and Elle Baker at the No. 3 spot and a 6-1 win over USC Upstate's Gabriela Cevallos and Roberta Armani at the No. 2 spot. So this spring, Meier is 4-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. Meier is the first Eagle to receive Sun Belt Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors since Georgia Southern joined the conference in 2015.
