Williams Pours in a Record 51 Points to Lift Coastal Over Troy
CONWAY, S.C. – Senior DJ Williams scored a school-record 51 points to lead Coastal Carolina to a fast-paced 124-103 win over Troy in a battle for first-place in a Sun Belt Conference game Thursday night at the HTC Center. With its fifth consecutive win, Coastal improved to 20-3 overall and 10-2 in the league. After having its seven-game winning streak snapped, Troy slipped to 19-4 overall and 10-2 in the conference, tied with the Chanticleers and two games clear of the rest of the league.
Williams, who broke the previous school record of 45 points in a game with the highest total in an NCAA Division I women's basketball game this season, led five Coastal players in double figures. Senior point guard Torrie Cash added 23 points, while Aja Blount had 12, Kaylin West had a season-high 11 points, and Naheria Hamilton had 10.
Hood Leads Bobcats to a 50-47 Victory Over Little Rock
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Da'Nasia Hood recorded her second double-double of the season, and the Texas State women's basketball team (9-14, 2-10 Sun Belt) won a historic game with a 50-47 victory at Little Rock (10-13, 8-4 Sun Belt) Thursday afternoon in the Jack Stephens Center.
The Bobcats had never won in seven previous tries on the Trojans' home court before Hood scored a game-high 17 points and equaled her career-best effort with 14 rebounds for the Bobcats. Kennedy Taylor added 11 points, and Jayla Johnson added eight critical points.

The Panthers, who had not won in Lafayette since 2014, used intense defensive pressure in the second half to come from behind and finish off the Ragin' Cajuns down the stretch.

MONROE, La. - Georgia Southern women's basketball held UL Monroe to just one field goal over the final five and a half minutes to pick up a 72-66 Sun Belt win over the Warhawks at Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Thursday evening in Monroe.
The Eagles improved to 8-15 overall and 5-7 in Sun Belt Conference play, while UL Monroe falls to 3-20 overall and 1-11 in the league.
