Troy Women's Basketball Earns Best Start in Program History With Win Over South
TROY, Ala. – Troy, the 22nd ranked team in the College Insider Top 25 poll, improved to 17-3 overall and 8-1 in the Sun Belt Conference with its impressive 85-69 victory over in-state rival South Alabama. With the victory Troy's 2019-20 becomes the first team in program history to start the season 17-3. Their 8-1 Sun Belt record is also a program first.

Troy had one of its best offensive game of the season, shooting 41 percent from the field on 30-of-68 shooting. Troy's 41 percent shooting was its third time in the last four contests shooting at least 40 percent from the from the field. The Trojans posted their best three-point shooting game of the year at 41 percent on 7-of-17 shooting. The Trojans were led offensively by Kayla Robinson who scored 14-points, her first double-digit performance since dropping 25 against Kent State in Las Vegas. Robinson also added four assists and two rebounds while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Jasmine Robinson also scored in double figures with 13. Alexus Dye recorded her team-high fourth double-double of the season with 10-points and 11 rebounds.

Little Rock Knocks off Louisiana, 59-44
LAFAYETTE, La. – "Laissez les bons temps rouler" is a Cajun French phrase meaning "Let the good times roll." For Little Rock on Saturday in Lafayette, they absolutely did.

The Trojans (9-11, 7-2 Sun Belt) hit their first 10 shots of the game, shot nearly 92 percent in the first quarter and had three players in double figures in a commanding 59-44 win at Louisiana (13-7, 6-3).

Late-Game Heroics Lift A-State Past ULM
MONROE, La. (2/1/20) – For the second game in a row, Jireh Washington hit the shot that would prove to be the game-winner, but this time, it came from the foul line.

After drawing a foul with 1.8 seconds to go on the clock with the game tied at 53, Washington's first attempt rimmed out. Calm and collected, Washington took a breath and knocked down the second shot, giving A-State (9-11, 6-3 SBC) the lead. After ULM (3-17, 1-8) took a timeout that advanced the ball into its half of the court, Morgan Wallace deflected the inbounds pass with Jada Ford right there to steal it away and preserve the 54-53 Red Wolves victory on Saturday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Mountaineers Push Past Georgia Southern in Play4Kay Game
BOONE, N.C. - App State women's basketball pushed past Georgia Southern with an 83-75 triumph on Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Center.

The Mountaineers improve to 6-14 and 3-6 in league play after their first Sun Belt sweep of the season. Georgia Southern falls to 6-14 and 3-6.

Hamilton’s Double-Double Leads Chants Past Georgia State on Saturday
CONWAY, S.C. – Senior center Naheria Hamilton scored 17 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds, while senior guard DJ Williams added a game-high 22 points to lead Coastal Carolina to an easy 87-45 win over Georgia State in Sun Belt Conference play Saturday afternoon at the HTC Center.

The 85 points are the most Coastal has scored in a league game this season, as the Chanticleers improved to 17-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference. With the win, Coastal is now 10-1 at home this season and stays within a game of league-leader Troy.

Monstrous Fourth Quarter Propels Bobcats Past Lady Mavs, 72-55
SAN MARCOS – Texas State (8-12, 1-8 SBC) scored a season-best 31 points in the fourth quarter and battled back from a second half deficit to defeat UTA (12-9, 6-3 SBC), 72-55, on Saturday afternoon inside Strahan Arena. Bobcat sophomore forward Da'Nasia Hood dropped a career-high 28 points and was a perfect seven-for-seven from three-point distance.

TXST trailed UTA 44-41 entering the fourth quarter and played its best basketball of the year in the final 10 minutes. A large 19-1 run by the hosts to begin the fourth quarter opened the floodgates and allowed Texas State to coast to its first Sun Belt victory of the campaign. The Bobcats shot a scorching 71.4% (10-for-14) from the field while holding UTA to a 16.7% (3-for-18) mark in the final stanza.
