As the remainder of the 2019-20 season was canceled on March 12 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Sun Belt Conference is taking a look back at this past season with some notable notes presented in a Did You Know? series on the league's social media platforms.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (#SunBeltMBB)
Little Rock was one of two of just two NCAA Division I teams that finished in first place in their conference after being picked 11th or lower in its conference's preseason poll.
South Alabama closed the season on an eight-game winning streak, tied for the eighth-longest active streak in NCAA Division I.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (#SunBeltWBB)
Troy won its first Sun Belt regular-season and its first-ever outright conference title, compiling a program-record 25 wins.
The career-high 51 points by Coastal Carolina's DJ Williams vs. Troy on Feb. 13 was the most points scored in conference game and broke a 34-year old school record.
BASEBALL (#SunBeltBSB)
UTA achieved the highest RPI ranking in school history (4th) and was off to its best start since 2001.
Troy's Drew Frederic was the NCAA Divison I Baseball active leader in runs scored with 171.
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (#SunBeltXC)
UTA's Justin Domangue capped his career with a top-40 finish at the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, becoming the first All-America in school history.
With six runners finishing in the top 20, Appalachian State won its second Sun Belt Men's Cross Country Championship in the last three seasons. Five Mountaineers earned All-Sun Belt honors.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (#SunBeltXC)
Georgia State's women's cross country posted the best team GPA (3.92), topping the list of USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors.
Arkansas State's men's and women's cross country squads capped off arguably the best seasons in program history with identical sixth-place finishes at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country South Regional Championships.
FOOTBALL (#SunBeltFB)
With 25 non-conference wins (regular season and postseason) during the 2019 season, the Sun Belt reset its all-time high set a season prior.
The Sun Belt holds the best bowl winning percentage (.667) among all 10 Football Bowl Subdivision conferences over the last four seasons (2016-19). Conference teams have combined for 14 wins in the league's last 21 bowl appearances.
MEN'S GOLF (#SunBeltMGOLF)
ULM won the Border Olympics title with a three-round performance of 861 (288-284-289) at the Max Mandel Golf Club. The Warhawks stormed back to earn the ninth win over head coach Tim Baldwin after being down seven strokes entering the final round.
This season, Georgia Southern won two team tournament titles – J.T. Poston Invitational in the fall and Colleton River Collegiate in the spring.
WOMEN'S GOLF (#SunBeltWGOLF)
Arkansas State won three team tournament titles this season, including back-to-back titles open play in the spring at the FAU Winter Warm-Up and Rio Verde Invitational.
Troy's Lady Cat Invitational title was its third team tournament title this season, the most by the Trojans since the 2015-16 season.
SOFTBALL (#SunBeltSB)
Louisiana's Summer Ellyson's career ERA of 1.43 ranks tied for fourth in Sun Belt history. She has surrendered just 124 earned runs in 606.2 innings pitched.
This season, Troy's Leanna Johnson tied for the NCAA Division I lead in shutouts with seven.
MEN'S TENNIS (#SunBeltTEN)
Georgia State's Vazha Shubladze, UTA's Angel Diaz and Troy's Oskar Michalek in singles and Georgia Southern's Santiago Suarez & Murphy McCullough and Georgia State's Andrei Duarte & Roberts Grinvalds earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Troy's Carles Anton lead the conference in singles wins in dual matches with a 14-1 record (.933) and overall with a 19-3 mark (.864).
WOMEN'S TENNIS (#SunBeltTEN)
Appalachian State''s Sasha Pisareva earned the highest Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking in school history, coming in at 48th in the first national rankings of the spring season. She was one of only two players in the conference undefeated (9-0) at the No. 1 spot.
This spring, the Sun Belt posted three wins at No. 1 singles against Autonomy Five conference opponents – two by Appalachian State's Sasha Pisareva and one by Georgia State's Eva Chivu.
