Men's & Women's Tennis Players of the Week (Feb. 3)

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced its Women's and Men's Player of the Week honors on Wednesday.

Somer Dalla-Bona, Coastal Carolina University (Senior - Bokarina, Australia)

Dalla-Bona picked up a big win in her first singles victory of the season with a 7-6, 0-6, 6-4 win over No. 93 ranked Emma Shelton of No. 14 South Carolina. The fourth-year Chant battled back to hold off Shelton taking the first set, 7-6, in a tiebreak. After dropping the second set, 6-0, Dalla-Bona regrouped, winning the third set, 6-4, to secure the upset win. She started the spring season off with a doubles win alongside partner Jessie Mount vs the No. 1 doubles team at Clemson in Coastal's first dual match of the year.

Julien Evrard, University of South Alabama (Senior - Lille, France)

Evrard earned victories in both singles and doubles in the first match of the spring season against Florida State. Evrard clinched the doubles point for the Jags at No.2 (6-4) with teammate Sébastien Collard, against Loris Pourroy and Marcus Walters of Florida State. He beat Richard Thongoana in singles in three sets (6-3, 2-6, 6-3).
