NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced its weekly softball honors on Tuesday.
Softball Player of the Week
Tara Oltmann, Texas State
(#22, Sr, INF - Giddings, Texas)
Oltmann led Texas State, who won six times on the week, with 9 RBI, 17 total bases, a .773 slugging percentage, three home runs and two sacrifice flies. Her eight were one shy of the team high. Oltmann cranked a game-tying two-run home run in Texas State's win over No. 16 Mississippi State. She followed with her third home run of the week in the second game against the Bulldogs. Oltmann had at least one RBI in six of the Bobcats' eight games this week, recorded three multi-RBI games, and had back-to-back multi-hit games against No. 16 Mississippi State and Ole Miss, respectively. The senior infielder is currently riding a five-game hit streak heading into next week's games.

Mullins threw a seven-inning no-hitter in her collegiate debut. She became the first Texas State freshman pitcher since Randi Rupp to throw either a five- or seven-inning no-hitter. She struck out 12 batters in the game. Mullins was credited with her first career save in Texas State's win over No. 16 Mississippi State.
