PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.  -  Top-seeded Georgia State will face South Alabama in Sunday’s finale of the 2021 Sun Belt Men’s Tennis Championship at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
 
Georgia State claimed the doubles point, taking a 1-0 advantage over Georgia Southern. Andrei Duarte and Roberts Grinvalds earned a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles, while Mihai Marinescu and Vazha Shubladze clinched the point with a 6-3 win in No. 3 doubles.
 
The Panthers extended their lead to 2-0 when Shubladze took a No. 1 singles win in straight sets (6-0, 6-4). The Eagles were able to cut the lead to 2-1 after Valentin Dun claimed a No. 5 singles win. Georgia State won two straight matches in No. 2 and No. 3 singles to clinch the game, advancing  to the championship match for the fourth consecutive year.
 
In the second match, Troy won the doubles point with a win in No. 2 and No. 3, to take a 1-0 lead over South Alabama. After a rain delay, the Jaguars rallied to win three straight contests in No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 singles, advancing to the final.
