NEW ORLEANS – Following weekend series victories for their respective clubs, Little Rock’s Aaron Funk and ULM’s Grant Schulz claim the Sun Belt weekly awards, presented by GEICO. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Aaron Funk, Little Rock
(Sr., RHP – Lawrence, Kan.) 
 
Trojans senior right-handed pitcher Aaron Funk tossed seven frames of scoreless baseball, while scattering four hits in Saturday’s 4-3 victory over Louisiana. The Lawrence, Kan., product struck out eight in seven innings of work and retired 21 of the 27 batters he faced. Funk retired 12 of the 13 batters he confronted from the second through the sixth in the no decision. 

Baseball Player of the Week
Grant Schulz, ULM
(Jr., INF – Mereaux, La.)  
 
After sitting out since April 3, Warhawk junior infielder Grant Schulz hit .727 (8-for-11) and slugged 1.091 with seven RBIs, five runs scored, a double and a home run on the week. The Mereaux, La., native hit a grand slam in Wednesday’s 18-6 win over Jackson State, before posting a career-hit four-hit performance in Friday’s 12-1 win over Southern. Schulz’s five-game week improved his batting average by 92 points on the season.
