NEW ORLEANS – Following a series victory over Georgia Southern, Arkansas State’s Will Nash and Ben Klutts swept the Sun Belt weekly honors, presented by GEICO. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Will Nash, Arkansas State

Red Wolves junior right-handed pitcher Will Nash tossed six innings of shutout baseball in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Georgia Southern. With his third-straight quality start, Nash helped Arkansas State shut out the Eagles for the first time since Feb. 22, 2020, halting a stretch of 55-straight games in which Georgia Southern had plated at least one run. The Wheatley, Ark., product was part of Arkansas State’s weekend rotation that allowed just four runs—two earned—in the conference series.

Ben Klutts, Arkansas State
(Jr., INF – Poteau, Okla.) 

Red Wolves junior infielder Ben Klutts hit .500 (8-for-16) with five RBIs, three runs scored, a double and two home runs on the week. With four-straight multi-hit outings this week, the Poteau, Okla., native extended his multi-hit game streak to seven. Klutts boosted his average by 30 points to .323, while leading the Red Wolves to a series victory over Georgia Southern.
