NEW ORLEANS – After leading their teams to weekend series victories, UTA’s Carlos Tavera and ULM’s Trace Henry earn the Sun Belt weekly accolades, presented by GEICO. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Carlos Tavera, UTA
(Jr., RHP – Fort Worth, Texas)
 
Maverick junior right-handed pitcher Carlos Tavera threw the first nine innings of an 11-inning combined no-hitter in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Little Rock. The no-hitter is just the sixth in program history and the first since 1983. The Forth Worth, Texas, native struck out 11 batters to run his season total to a Sun Belt-leading 89. Tavera has now gone 20.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run and has struck out 30 battersduring that stretch. 

Baseball Player of the Week
Trace Henry, ULM
(Jr., OF – Mooreville, Miss.)
 
Warhawk junior outfielder Trace Henry hit .625 (10-for-16) with seven runs scored, two RBIs, three doubles and a triple on the week. The Mooreville, Miss., product hit safely in all four games, as ULM posted a 3-1 week against conference opposition. Henry tallied three multi-hit games, including a perfect 4-for-4 effort with two doubles, a triple and four runs scored in Saturday’s 10-7 victory over App State.
