NEW ORLEANS – Arkansas State’s Jake Wallis has been named Sun Belt men’s golfer of the month for October.

Over two events in October, Wallis totaled 21-under par (68.50 average) and was an individual medalist for the first time in his career.

At the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, Wallis finished third with a 9-under par (207), playing a key role in the Red Wolves' second team title of the fall. The following week at The Saint Mary's Invitational, Wallis was individual medalist with a career-best 12-under par (204) to win by five strokes, helping Arkansas State to a third consecutive team victory.

For the month, Wallis was par or better in all six rounds with four of those six rounds in the 60s, including a 7-under 65 in the final round at The Saint Mary's Invitational.
