Georgia Southern’s Spudd Webb Named Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern graduate guard Spudd Webb has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after standout performances at both ends of the court while leading the Eagles to a pair of non-conference wins.
 
Webb becomes the first Georgia Southern men’s basketball player to earn the Sun Belt’s top weekly honor since teammate Tyren Moore on March 4, 2024.
 
Webb averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 32.5 minutes per game while shooting 12-for-16 (.750) from the field and 12-for-14 (.857) at the free throw line in wins over Florida Gulf Coast and Johnson C. Smith.
 
A Hartwell, Ga., native, Webb scored 17 points while chipping in six assists and four rebounds in a thrilling, 95-94 road win over FGCU on Nov. 11. Three nights later, he scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half on 7-for-10 shooting from the field to complement six assists, five steals and three rebounds in a 98-79 home victory against Johnson C. Smith.
