Fan Favorite #FunBelt Becomes Official Catchphrase after Ticket Buyer Praise

NEW ORLEANS – Sun Belt Conference season ticket holders felt the most valued by their universities, more so than any other conference in the country, according to a recent study of all FBS conferences conducted by the Ohio University Center for Sports Administration in conjunction with Turnkey Intelligence.

To further show our appreciation for our fans, the Sun Belt Conference will commemorate the survey results by making a fan favorite hashtag the conference’s official moniker: #FunBelt. This moniker has often been associated with the league and its exciting brand and will now be officially added to the conference’s lexicon.

In addition to the news of season ticket holder feeling valued by their schools, ticket purchasers in the Sun Belt Conference were also more satisfied when attending games than the ticket purchasers of any other FBS conference besides one. These ticket buyers also said that their expectations for the gameday experience were exceeded at Sun Belt Conference football games and that the gameday experience was close to their ideal experience.

Specifically to the gameday experience, the Sun Belt Conference ranked highest with attendees in “Seat Location”, “Sense of Safety”, “Gameday Atmosphere” and “Ticket Price.”

The Sun Belt Conference also ranked first among all conferences when responders were asked to rate their renewal intent for season tickets on a 1-to-10 scale (8.5) dating from the last six years to the present.

The survey was conducted as part of a national survey of fan attendance and what factors go into the decision to attend college football games. Information was sent to each conference and university in September and over 75,000 fans responded.

“Knowing that our fans ranked the Sun Belt membership so highly gives us a great amount of satisfaction,” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. “Studies that we conducted have often found data that supports these findings and it is something our members have clearly worked on very hard. This is a testament to the commitment of our member universities to provide their fans with the most enjoyable experience possible when attending games and events.”
