Little Rock tops St. Bonaventure, CCU, UL Lafayette and UT Arlington win

Shoshi scores 16, UALR holds off St. Bonaventure, 68-65

CEDAR PARK, Texas (AP) Lis Shoshi made 12 of 14 free throws and finished with 16 points, both career highs, Marcus Johnson Jr. scored 14 and Arkansas-Little Rock held on for a 68-65 win over Saint Bonaventure in the Lone Star Showcase on Monday night.

Jalen Jackson added 10 points for UALR, which led by as many as 17 in the first half.

Denzel Gregg had a putback, a layup and a dunk to cap and 8-0 run that gave St. Bonaventure a 62-60 lead with 2:55 to play but the Bonnies wouldn't make another field goal. After Marius Hill made 1 of 2 free throws and Kemy Osse hit a 3 about a minute later, UALR (3-1) led the rest of the way.

Jaylen Adams made 1 of 2 foul shots to pull St. Bonaventure (1-2) within one with 1:34 to go, but Shoshi and Jackson each made 2 of 2 free throws from there to seal it.

Adams led the Bonnies with 18 points.

Coastal Carolina downs Southern Utah 83-68 behind Wilson

LAS VEGAS (AP) Elijah Wilson scored 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting, Jaylen Shaw added 20 points and Coastal Carolina used a late run to pull away from Southern Utah 83-68 on Monday in an opening game of the MGM Grand Main Event's middleweight division.

After trailing by nine points at halftime, Southern Utah's James McGee tied it at 53 with a 3-pointer, but the Chanticleers (2-3) pulled ahead 68-58 on a 15-5 run capped by Jaylan Robertson's jumper. Wilson scored six points amid another 15-5 run, capping it with a 3 with 1:35 to play.

Wilson scored 12 points in the first half and his layup gave the Chanticleers a 25-24 edge they rode to a 39-30 halftime lead.

Demario Beck scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Chanticleers.

McGee scored 23 points, hitting 5-of-8 3-pointers for Southern Utah (1-3). Randy Onwuasor scored 22 and Race Parsons added 14.

UL Lafayette escapes Delaware St. with an 83-82 win

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) Frank Bartley IV scored 25 points and had five assists, Bryce Washington had 20 points and 14 rebounds and UL Lafayette held off Delaware State 83-82 on Monday night.

It was Washington's third double-double of the season as he entered the game averaging 16 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.

Bartley made two free throws to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 52-49 lead with 14:34 to play. UL Lafayette (2-2) led 80-73 with 47 seconds to go when Kavon Waller made a layup, and Devon Morgan made a pair of free throws a layup and a 3 at the buzzer before the Hornets ran out of time.

The Ragin' Cajuns missed 13 free throws and Delaware State committed 26 fouls and had 17 turnovers.

Morgan led Delaware State with 23 points shooting 5 for 10 from 3 and passed out four assists. Delaware State (1-3) has lost three straight.

The game was part of the six-team Hardwood Showcase being played at campus sites through Nov. 27.

Amin, Martinez hit late FTs as Texas A&M-CC beats Texas St.

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) Ehab Amin and Cole Martinez made 10 straight free throws down the stretch to secure Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's 73-69 win over Texas State on Monday night.

Trailing 69-63, Texas State's Ojai Black hit a 3-point jumper to close to 69-66 with 19 seconds remaining. Martinez responded with four straight free throws in the final seconds to clinch the victory.

Martinez made all eight free throw attempts for 18 points and Rashawn Thomas added 15 for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-0). Amin, who finished with 12 points, had four steals and two blocked shots.

Texas State (2-2) outshot the Islanders, hitting 44 percent from the floor to 38 percent for Texas A&M-CC. The Islanders won it at the free throw line, making 25 of 28. The Bobcats hit 12 of 19 free throw attempts.

Kavin Gilder-Tilbury and Bobby Conley led Texas State, scoring 20 and 19 points, respectively.

UT Arlington coasts to 88-67 win over St. Francis (IL)

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Kevin Hervey hit four 3-pointers and had 16 points, Nathan Hawkins added 15 points and UT Arlington snapped a three-game skid Monday night with an 88-67 win over NAIA member St. Francis (IL).

Jorge Bilbao contributed 11 points, while Faith Pope and Kaelon Wilson had 10 apiece for UT Arlington (2-3), which hit 53 percent of its 60 shots from the field. Pope also hauled in eight rebounds.

The Mavericks broke away with a 17-2 run fueled with three of Hervey's 3-pointers to make it 32-15 with seven minutes left in the first half and protected the double digit advantage the rest of the way.

St. Francis got a tip-in from Landus Anderson 45 seconds into the game to take its only lead, 2-1.

Jo Jo Ballestero led the Fighting Saints with 15 points, Jorden Thornton added 12 and Anderson finished with 10.

Eastern Illinois beats Troy with late free throws 71-67

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) Montell Goodwin, shooting his first free throws of the game, made both with 15 seconds left to snap a tie in Eastern Illinois' 71-67 victory over Troy on Monday.

After Kevin Baker missed a long 3-pointer for the Trojans (2-2), Cornell Johnston added two more free throws with two seconds left for EIU (3-2).

Jeremy Hollimon was fouled on a layup and his 3-point play tied the game for Troy with 1:08 remaining. Hollimon missed a pair of free throws with 39 seconds remaining. Johnston then missed a 3-pointer, Troy's Juan Davis Jr. grabbed the rebound but traveled. EIU called timeout and Goodwin was fouled on the inbounds pass.

Demetrius McReynolds scored 19 points to lead EIU. Goodwin added 16.

Baker scored 15 points and Jordon Varnado had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The two teams played Nov. 14 at Troy with the Trojans winning 70-67 on Varnado's jumper with 3.4 seconds left.
