South Alabama powers past Spring Hill

South Alabama pulls away for 71-50 win over Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) Shaq Calhoun scored 17 points and South Alabama ended a four-game losing streak with a 71-50 win over Division II Spring Hill on Monday night.

The Jaguars (7-5) shot just 30 percent (8 of 27) in the first half and only led the Badgers, whose campus is just a mile from the South Alabama campus, 28-25 at the break. In the second half, reserve Josh Ajayi had 11 of his 13 points, making 4 of 5 shots as the Jags shot 50 percent. Georgi Boyanov finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Spring Hill, which played the game as an exhibition, shot 34 percent (20 of 59), going 1 of 16 from 3-point range, and were just 9 of 19 from the foul line.

Walter Massey had 14 points and Brandon Fischer scored 10 and they had eight rebounds apiece for the Badgers.

South Alabama was 11 of 15 from the line in the second half and 20 of 30 for the game.

Oral Roberts beats UALR 63-48 behind Bradley, Anderson

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Jalen Bradley had 14 points, Aaron Anderson scored a career-high 12, and Oral Roberts beat Arkansas-Little Rock 63-48 on Monday night, ending the Trojans' six-game win streak.

It's the first time since beating Haskell on Dec. 28, 2014 that the Golden Eagles have held an opponent to under-50 points.

Trailing by six at halftime, the Trojans closed to 30-27 on Jalen Jackson's dunk off a steal, but Oral Roberts pulled away on 14-2 run and led 54-38 with 6:42 left and were never threatened.

The Trojans missed all 15 of their shots from behind the arc and shot 34.5 percent from the field (20 of 58).

Albert Owens' jumper put Oral Roberts (3-10) up for good at 21-19 and sparked an 11-2 run in which Anderson, Darian Harris and Kris Martin each hit 3s and the Golden Eagles led 30-21 with 19:40 to play.

Maurius Hill scored 13 points, Jackson added 12 and Lis Shoshi grabbed 14 rebounds for the Trojans (9-3).

Wyoming downs Troy in game delayed by power outage

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) Justin James scored 27 points, Hayden Dalton added 13 and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Wyoming rallied late to beat Troy 67-64 on Monday night in a game delayed by a power outage.

Leading by three at halftime, Troy's Wesley Person hit two 3-pointers - becoming only the fourth player in school history to hit 200 career 3s - and Troy led 41-31. Dalton's 3 cut the lead to 50-49 with 8:08 left, Jason McManamen made the go-ahead layup for a 59-58 lead. Justin James' field goal for the Cowboys with 56 seconds left was the last points of the game.

McManamen scored 10 points for the Cowboys (9-2), who have won six straight.

Troy's Jeremy Hollimon had scored seven straight points to tie it at 13 when a citywide power outage struck. When play resumed an hour and fifteen minutes later, Troy extended the run to 12 and led 32-29 at halftime.

Person scored 16 points with four 3s and Hollimon had 14 for the Trojans (6-6).

Wofford nips Coastal Carolina 75-74 behind Magee, Garcia

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Fletcher Magee and Eric Garcia combined for 50 points, Ryan Sawvell made the game-winning layup with 17 seconds left, and Wofford beat Coastal Carolina 75-74 on Monday night.

Magee scored 27 points and made 7 of 13 3-pointers, Garcia scored a career-high 23 points, and Wofford (5-7) outscored Coastal Carolina 24-12 in the paint and outrebounded them 37-25.

Trailing by two at halftime after 11 lead changes, Wofford twice rallied to a six-point lead, but the Chanticleers took a 50-48 lead and tied it at 58 and 61. Magee hit back-to-back 3s and Wofford pulled ahead 68-63 with 3:48 to go, but the Chanticleers closed to 73-70 on Jaylen Shaw's jumper with 44 seconds left. After Sawvell's layup, Coastal Carolina's Artur Labinowicz made one of two free throws and a 3-pointer before time expired.

Shaw scored 19 points and Jos Williams-Powell added 15 for the Chanticleers (5-8).
