Louisiana wins seventh straight

Louisiana cruises to 94-60 win over Loyola of New Orleans

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) Frank Bartley and Bryce Washington scored 19 points apiece and Louisiana cruised to a 94-60 victory over NAIA member Loyola of New Orleans on Wednesday night for its seventh straight win.

Bartley was 3 of 8 from the floor and made 12 of 13 free throws. Washington was 9-of-13 shooting and had a game-high nine rebounds. P.J. Hardy had 16 points and Jay Wright added 15 points and five assists. The Ragin' Cajuns (7-2) shot 34 of 61 from the field for 56 percent and outrebounded the Wolf Pack 41-26.

Jalen Gray and Johnny Griffin Jr. each scored 16 points to lead Loyola, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

The Ragin' Cajuns had a double-digit lead midway through the first half and never trailed.

Louisiana, which is 5-0 at home, hosts Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

Green scores 20 as Rio Grande Valley beats Texas State 72-61

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) Antonio Green scored 20 points to lead three players into double figures as Texas-Rio Grande Valley defeated Texas State 72-61 Wednesday night, kicking off a three-game homestand and snapping Texas State's three-game win streak.

Ten players scored for the Broncs (3-8) as they secured their first win at home this season after ending a seven-game road swing with a double-overtime loss at Portland. Nick Dixon added 14 points with five assists. The Broncs had 21 assists on 25 baskets.

Texas State (4-4) twice came within eight points in the closing minutes, first when Kavin Gilder-Tilbury hit a 3-pointer and again when he made one of two foul shots that cut the gap to 69-61 with 1:39 remaining. Green closed out the game with a free throw and a layup.

Gilder-Tilbury led Texas State (4-4) with 20 points and Bobby Conley added 13.
