QUOTES
Head Coach Amy Hendrichovsky
- On the win:
"I give credit to Georgia State, I thought they played really well. Their defense was one of the best we have played in a while, and I thought it really challenged us offensively. We really focused on our offense this week, and it was good to see our girls execute what we focused on. Energy-wise we lost some momentum in the second set being up and I take some blame for that, but it was good for us to face that adversity in the home court and I'm glad our girls fought through it."

- On the attack:
"We have numerous weapons, and I think we had a balanced offense. Early on in the beginning of the match, we relied on two people. We talked about that and were able to execute. We had multiple people in double-digit attempts and double-digit kills, which is kudos to our setters; they did a good job running our offense tonight."

- On looking ahead to Georgia Southern:
"We know what we're focusing on right now as a team and what we want to execute, and if our girls stay process-oriented and continue to execute what we're talking about executing on the court then we'll be successful. Georgia Southern is a good team, and I look for them to come in here and push us as well."

The Ragin' Cajuns wrap up the weekend conference homestand with a match against Little Rock (5-10, 1-2 Sun Belt) on Saturday at Earl K. Long Gym. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear black.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, Louisiana stormed out to a 4-0 lead and withstood an answer from the Red Wolves. ASU rallied and led 11-9, but the Ragin' Cajuns drew even at 11-all and used kills from Abram and Wisnoskie to take the lead for good at 13-11.

Louisiana's final push came when an Abram kill and back-to-back blocks extended the lead to 24-19.

- ASU came out blazing in the second set and finished with a .483 hitting percentage in the frame to even the match.

- With the match lead on the line in the third set, the Ragin' Cajuns drew a 24-all tie following a block by Wisnoskie and Abram. However, a miscue by Wisnoskie and kill from Kenzie Fields after both teams scrambed during the ensuing rally gave ASU the 26-24 win and a 2-1 match lead.

- The lead swapped hands five times in the fourth set and Louisiana had a dramatic rally with their backs against the wall. Trailing 24-21, a service error handed the ball to the Cajuns who after an Hebert ace and ASU attack error pulled into a tie.

Knotted at 26-all, Wisnoskie landed a kill to give Louisiana its final lead of the frame. Set point came on the next rally when Timber Terrell swung and hit a ball out of bounds.

- Neither team broke away from the other in the fifth set until the Ragin' Cajuns forged ahead 8-6 after kills by Antoine and Reilly. The hosts were finally able to get a three-point edge when Fields committed an attack error which gave Louisiana a 13-10 lead.

Georgia Southern Volleyball Tops Troy 3-0
STATESBORO – Megan Chevalier and Lauren Reichard each pounded down 11 kills, and Georgia Southern won its third straight match, a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) Sun Belt decision over Troy in Trojan Arena Friday night.

Reichard added seven blocks and an ace and hit .625 for the Eagles (5-8, 2-1), while Chevalier hit .526 and added two blocks. April Luther finished with 32 assists and three digs.

Jenni Young posted 14 kills to lead Troy (5-12, 0-3), and Savannah Moore tallied eight kills and three blocks.

The story
The Eagles hit over .300 for the second consecutive match, clocking in with a season-high .338. GS also notched 11 blocks as a team and held Troy to .188 hitting.

Troy led the first set by four points early, but with the score tied 19-19 late in the frame, Chevalier scored with a kill and Reichard followed with a block to open a 21-19 lead. The Eagles pushed the margin to 24-21, and Casey McColl finished the set with an ace.

Quotable from head coach Dustin Wood
"It was a great win tonight for us. We had some great performances by our players, and we led in every statistical area. Lauren (Reichard) and Chev (Megan Chevalier) led the way offensively with double digit kills in three sets hitting .625 and .526 respectively. Those numbers are outstanding."

"April did a great job in finding the hot hand tonight, and the hitting percentage reflected the offense she ran.
What really helped our offensive production was our passing, led by Brooke (Birch) Joscelin (Morrow) and Cathrine (Murray). They were dialed, and their numbers were phenomenal. Our offense starts with them. They did their job."

"We also blocked well tonight, but I believe we can pick our defense up more. We left some opportunities out there with lack of execution."

"Overall, I'm really pleased with all the hard work and preparation that the players put in this week. I'm proud of my staff too for getting them prepared for this weekend. We will enjoy our ride tonight to Mobile and look forward to a tough match tomorrow night. It should be a good one."
