Texas State 3, Georgia Southern 0
For the second straight year the Texas State soccer team became the first program to officially clinch a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament following a 3-0 victory at Georgia Southern on Sunday.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 8-5-1 on the season and lead the Sun Belt standings by four points with a 6-0-1 record. The Eagles drop to 4-9-0 overall and 2-4-0 in conference play.
Coastal Carolina 1, ULM 0
Heston Neal scored her first goal of the season to give the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team a 1-0 win over the visiting ULM Warhawks, Sunday afternoon on the pitch at the CCU Soccer Stadium. Prior to the match, CCU recognized its three seniors on this year's squad for Senior Day.
The win improved the Chants to 6-5-1 and 5-1 in Sun Belt action while keeping ULM winless at 0-14 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
Appalachian State 1, Louisiana 0
Appalachian State University women's soccer (7-5-1, 4-1 SBC) pushed past Louisiana (3-8-2, 2-3 SBC) with a 1-0 triumph on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
Before the match, Appalachian recognized its eight seniors and student trainer for their dedication and commitment to the program.
Little Rock 2, South Alabama 1
The Trojans knocked off reigning Sun Belt champions South Alabama with a late game-winning goal from Arola Aparicio Gili at the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex. Head Coach Mark Foster won his first matchup with the team he previously coached.
The winning moment came in the 87th minute when Morgan Smocovich launched a long ball to Aparicio Gili. The Spanish forward was quick with her attack as she took a touch that brought her around the keeper and slotted the ball into the back of the net to seal the win and the three points for Little Rock.
