– Junior D’Marcus Simonds scored a team-high 25 points and freshman Nelson Phillips just missed his first career double-double to give Georgia State a 75-65 win over St. Bonaventure on Monday on the first day of the Cayman Islands Classic.
Georgia State (3-1) won its second straight game and advances in the winner’s bracket to face Creighton on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CT. Clemson and Georgia will square off in the other semifinal matchup.

Louisiana 91, Colorado State 73
ESTERO, Fla.
– JaKeenan Gant tied a season-high with 19 points to lead five players in double figures and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns opened the game on an 18-5 run and never looked back in defeating Colorado State, 91-73, on the first day of the Gulf Coast Showcase on Monday at Hertz Arena. Malik Marquetti added 16 points while Justin Miller added 13 and a team-high nine rebounds as Louisiana (2-2) forced 20 turnovers while holding Colorado State (3-1) to 11 of 34 (32.4 percent) in the first half.With the win, Louisiana advanced to the semifinals to face Toledo on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Tulsa 88, Little Rock 78
TULSA, Okla.
– Little Rock raced out to a commanding first half lead and kept Tulsa at bay in the opening half. But the Golden Hurricane used a second half surge to pull away, handing the Trojans an 88-78 loss at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The loss drops the Trojans to 2-2 on the year while the Golden Hurricane improve to 4-0. It marked the second game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Holiday Classic for both teams.

South Alabama 79, Southeast Missouri State 58
MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama senior Rodrick Sikes led all players with a season-high 30 points and the Jaguars converted 13 times from behind the arc in a 79-58 defeat of Southeast Missouri Monday night at the Mitchell Center.
