ORLANDO, Fla. – B.J. Taylor scored 35 points, including 27 in the second half, and added five assists and four rebounds to lead UCF to a 95-88 men's basketball win over Georgia Southern Tuesday night in CFE Arena. Tookie Brown scored 20 points to become Georgia Southern's career scoring leader in the Division I era. His floater in the lane over the 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall gave him 1,871 career points and sent the senior past Julius Jenkins in the school record books.
Little Rock 67, Miles College 47
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock put on a dunking clinic, throwing down nine on the night, and clamping down on defense as the Trojans raced past Miles College 67-47 at the Jack Stephens Center. The win ups Little Rock's overall record to 5-6 and closes out the Trojans' extended home stand. The Trojans gave Miles College, the top defensive team in Division II, a taste of its own medicine, holding the Golden Bears to just 28.8% shooting on the night, including 27.3 percent from three-point range.
Louisiana 122, Prairie View A&M 90
LAFAYETTE, La. – JaKeenan Gant and Jerekius Davis each scored a career-high 27 points and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns scored its most points since the 1990-91 season with a 122-90 victory over Prairie View on Tuesday at the Cajundome. Marcus Stroman posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists as Louisiana (7-3) won its fifth straight game and scored its most points since a 127-88 win over Tennessee State on December 20, 1990.
ULM 72, Grambling State 67
MONROE, La. – Daishon Smith and Travis Munnings combined for 35 points as ULM took an early lead and never faltered on the way to a 72-67 win over Grambling on Tuesday night. Grambling did rally to close to 66-62 after Prince Moss nailed a 3-pointer and Dallas Polk-Hilliard followed with a layup with 2:17 remaining in the game. Louisiana-Monroe made six free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
