WASHINGTON, D.C. – Isaac Johnson recorded a career-high 17 rebounds and Hunter Seacat added a career-best 10 points, but Appalachian State men's basketball dropped a hard fought 83-73 decision at Georgetown on Tuesday evening. Johnson posted 10 points to go along with his 17 rebounds (six offensive) for his third double-double of the season and seventh of his career. His 17 rebounds better his previous best of 16 set last season at James Madison.
Georgia Southern 79, Bradley 74
STATESBORO, Ga. – Quan Jackson scored eight of his game-high 22 points in overtime to lead Georgia Southern to a 79-74 men's basketball win over Bradley Tuesday night in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Louisiana 80, McNeese 67
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Playing without senior JaKeenan Gant, Louisiana's other two seniors picked up the slack as Malik Marquetti scored a career-high 29 points with Marcus Stroman adding 20 to lead the Ragin' Cajuns to an 80-67 victory over McNeese before an announced crowd of 2,590 on Tuesday at the new McNeese H&HP Complex.
Arkansas State 71, Missouri State 63
JONESBORO, Ark. – The Arkansas State men’s basketball team used a strong defensive effort to get past Missouri State 71-63 Tuesday night at First National Bank Arena. A-State (5-6), winners of three of its last four outings, held Missouri State (4-7) to .396 (19-48) from the floor and just .200 (4-20) from 3-point range. Grantham Gillard led A-State with a 17 points and eight rebounds whileChristian Willis added a career high 13 points. Marquis Eaton added 13 points while Ty Cockfield had a game-high five assists. Keandre Cook had 18 points to lead Missouri State.
ULM 95, Nicholls 68
MONROE, La. – The ULM basketball squad's current homestand has been a good one so far. Daishon Smith scored 23 points as the Warhawks knocked off Nicholls, 95-68, Tuesday night at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Gonzaga 89, UTA 55
SPOKANE, Wash. – UTA junior guard Brian Warren eclipsed 1,000 career points Tuesday night at #8 Gonzaga, but the Mavericks (3-8) dropped an 89-55 decision to the Bulldogs (10-2) inside McCarthey Athletic Center. Warren surpassed the 1,000-point mark (now has 1,003) on a three-pointer in the 1st half and finished with a team-best 12 for the game to go along with five rebounds. TiAndre Jackson-Youngposted his second-consecutive double-figure point performance as he was the lone other Maverick to reach 10 points, finishing with exactly that total.
